Political Platform

As a Representative in the Illinois House, I will follow a program of economic modernization that promotes a market oriented economy in which skill and expertise predominate wealth and the ownership of property. In order to accomplish this goal we must provide universal education for our citizens and promote private colleges and institutions so that our citizens can take advantage of the new economy. We must provide a system of roads, railroads and canals that makes trade easier and faster for everyone. Illinois should be a "Free Soil" state. While slavery was founded on both injustice and bad policy, abolition would only make matters worse. Therefore slave ownership should be illegal in Illinois, but other states should not be forced to adopt our policy.
